Utah Eyelash Extensions Certification Requirements

In Utah, to legally perform eyelash extensions, you must hold a professional license. The state recognizes several licenses that permit you to offer lash extension services:

Cosmetologist/Barber License

Esthetician License

Eyelash and Eyebrow Technician License 

Each license has its own set of training hours and scope of practice.

1. Cosmetologist/Barber License

Training Hours: Requires completion of 1,600 hours of training at an accredited cosmetology/barber school.

Scope: Covers a broad range of beauty services, including hair, nails, skincare, and lash extensions.

2. Esthetician License

Training Hours: Requires completion of 600 hours of training at an accredited esthetics school.
