The Dos and Don'ts of Mixing C and D Curl Lashes
The Dos and Don'ts of Mixing C and D Curl Lashes
March 15, 2024 by The Lash Professional.
A pervasive misconception about eyelash extensions, especially amongst new clients, is that there is only one kind of eyelash extension. In fact, there are many different kinds of lash extensions, from the more natural-looking J curl lash to a more lifted B curl, and on to the C, D, and even L+ curl lashes. Each of these different lashes has different curls, diameters, and effects, from barely noticeable to incredibly dramatic.
The type of lash extensions and curls you use with your clients depends not only on the look they're going for but on what type of natural lashes they have. Your clients' natural lash types can make a big difference. They can rule out some kinds of lash curls, or necessitate specific curl types. You keep hearing about different types of curls, but what are the most popular or common types of lash curls?
In general, the most common lashes for eyelash extensions are C curl lashes, with D curl lashes coming in right behind in terms of popularity. Inevitably, the question arises: Can you mix C and D curl lashes? Yes, absolutely. However, before mixing any of them up, it's essential to know what C and D curl lashes are, and how they work.
The 411 on C and D Curl Lashes
Before you can get into mixing C and D curl lashes, you need to know the details of each. Only then can you answer those clients who ask "Can you mix C and D curl lashes?" with confidence.
C curls
C curls cause the eyes to pop, but not overly so. When attached to natural lashes, C curls open up clients' eyes considerably, achieving a lifted look you'd normally get with a lash curler –– but doing so by default. With this more natural curl effect, C curls are what many people imagine as the ideal for eyelashes. Understandably, C curl lashes are some of the most popular for both clients and lash artists.
D curls
As for D curls, you could say the "D" truly stands for "Dramatic." D curls achieve a fuller look and more intense lift; it is almost as if the lashes are reaching for the eyebrows. These lash extensions unequivocally make a bold statement, never failing to grab and hold the attention of those who see them. If your clients are going for a doll-look, then look no further than D curls.

Get CC'd on This
Mixing C and D curl lashes can indeed create unique, stylish looks. But there's a lesser-known middle ground between C and D curl lashes, called CC curl lashes. When clients want more dramatic lashes than they could get with C curl lashes, but don't quite want to make the jump to D curl lashes, the CC curl is the best option to amplify your clients' natural beauty.
If you're planning on mixing C and D curl lashes for a client, here's a suggestion: Incorporate CC lashes, too. With D curls on one end, CC curls in the middle, and C curls on the other end, your clients’ eyelashes will pop as never before. This is a creative way to blend different curls, creating lashes full of lift, volume, and flair like nothing else out there.
When Certain Lash Curls Don't Work
If your clients want a specific type of curl, but it wouldn't work with their natural lashes (or if mixing C and D curl lashes, for example, would work better), tell them. For example, C curl lashes work best with those whose lashes are already somewhat naturally curly, but D curl lashes don't work as well for those with straight lashes (as the strain of the curl could end up hurting eyelids).
Your clients are looking to you for your expertise. Don't be afraid to share it, and steer them in the right (and most beautiful) direction!
C curl vs. D curl eyelash extensions
When comparing C vs. D curl lashes, the key difference lies in their curvature. C curls have a more gradual curve, while D curls offer a sharper, more intense bend. Both cater to different lash curls preferences and eye shapes, allowing individuals to choose based on the desired outcome.
Whether you buy lash extensions or get them done professionally, understanding the differences in lash curls is essential. If you're after a natural, everyday look, C curl lashes extensions might be the ideal choice. For special occasions or a more dramatic appearance, the D curl would be a great option.

By 1903, he began selling artificial eyelashes at his London salon on Great Castle Street. He used the profits from his sales to fund his next invention, the permanent wave (perm) machine."
To enhance your beauty and find the perfect fit, consider experimenting with both types of curls to determine which suits you best. The choice between C curl vs D curl lashes depends on your style and the look you want to achieve. By considering these differences, you can select the ideal lash curl that perfectly complements your eyes and overall aesthetic.
Volume vs. Wispy Lash Extensions
Volume vs. Wispy Lash Extensions
December 5, 2023 by The Lash Professional.
When it comes to lash extensions, one size definitely doesn’t fit all. With so many styles to choose from, finding the perfect look for your client can feel overwhelming. Two of the most popular options that clients often ask about are Volume and Wispy lash extensions. But what’s the difference, and which one is right for your client?
As a lash artist with The Lash Professional, I’m here to break it all down for you. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or new to the lash game, understanding the differences between Volume and Wispy lash extensions is key to creating stunning, customized looks for every client.
What Are Volume Lash Extensions?
Volume lash extensions are all about fullness and drama. This technique involves creating fans with multiple lightweight extensions and applying them to a single natural lash. Depending on the number of extensions in each fan, Volume lashes can range from natural fullness to mega-volume glamour.
Key Features of Volume Lashes
Fullness: Perfect for clients who want a bold, dramatic look.
Customizable: You can adjust the number of lashes in each fan to achieve different levels of volume.
Lightweight: Despite their full appearance, Volume lashes are made with lightweight extensions to avoid damaging natural lashes.
Best For:
Clients with sparse natural lashes who want more fullness.
Those who love a dramatic, eye-catching look.
What Are Wispy Lash Extensions?
Wispy lash extensions are all about creating texture and dimension. This style mimics the look of strip lashes, blending shorter and longer extensions to create a feathery, layered effect. The result is a soft, fluttery look that adds just the right amount of glam.
Key Features of Wispy Lashes
Textured Look: A combination of shorter and longer lashes gives a natural, layered effect.
Custom Design: Wispy styles are often mapped to match the client’s eye shape and preferences.
Natural Glam: A softer, more subtle look compared to Volume lashes.
Best For:
Clients who want a natural yet noticeable enhancement.
Those who love the look of strip lashes without the hassle.
Volume vs. Wispy Lash Extensions: Key Differences
Here’s a quick comparison to help you understand the main differences between these two styles:
Feature | Volume Lashes | Wispy Lashes |
---|---|---|
Appearance | Full, dramatic, and bold | Textured, feathery, and layered |
Technique | Multiple lightweight extensions per lash | Mix of shorter and longer extensions |
Best For | Clients who want maximum fullness | Clients seeking natural glam |
Customization | Customizable volume levels | Custom lash mapping for texture |
Impact | High impact and eye-catching | Subtle yet stylish |
How to Choose Between Volume and Wispy Lashes
As a lash artist, your job is to help clients choose the style that suits their preferences, lifestyle, and natural lashes. Here’s how to guide them:
1. Ask About Their Desired Look
If they’re looking for a bold, dramatic look, Volume lashes are the way to go. If they prefer something softer and more natural, suggest Wispy lashes.
2. Consider Their Natural Lashes
For clients with sparse or weak natural lashes, Wispy extensions may be a better option as they require fewer lashes. Volume lashes are ideal for clients with strong natural lashes that can support multiple extensions.
3. Discuss Maintenance
Volume lashes may require more maintenance, as the fans need to stay in place for a full look. Wispy lashes are generally easier to maintain due to their lighter appearance.
4. Think About Their Lifestyle
If your client is always on the go and wants minimal upkeep, Wispy lashes may be a better fit. For special occasions or clients who love the drama, Volume lashes are the ultimate statement.
Final Thoughts on Volume vs. Wispy Lash Extensions
So, Volume vs. Wispy lash extensions—which one wins? The answer depends on your client’s style and preferences. Volume lashes are perfect for bold, dramatic looks, while Wispy lashes offer a soft, textured vibe that’s effortlessly chic.
As a lash artist, mastering both styles will allow you to cater to a wider range of clients and create customized looks that keep them coming back. With the right training and supplies, like those from The Lash Professional, you’ll have everything you need to deliver stunning results every time.

Wispy vs. Hybrid Lash Extensions
wispy vs. hybrid lash extensions
December 5, 2023 by The Lash Professional.
What Are Wispy Lashes?
Wispy lashes are all about texture, layering, and creating that dreamy, feathered effect. They’re often inspired by the look of strip lashes, blending varying lengths of extensions to create a soft, natural yet dramatic appearance.
Key Features of Wispy Lashes
Textured Look: Incorporates a mix of longer and shorter lash extensions for a multi-dimensional effect.
Custom Mapping: Each set is carefully mapped to complement the client’s eye shape and achieve the desired look.
Natural Glam: Perfect for those who want a bold yet natural finish.
Best For:
Clients who love the look of strip lashes without the hassle.
Those who want a unique, customized lash style that’s eye-catching but not overly dramatic.
What Are Hybrid Lash Extensions?
Hybrid lash extensions are a blend of classic and volume techniques, combining the best of both worlds. This style involves placing a mix of single classic extensions and handmade volume fans onto the natural lashes. The result? A fuller, more dimensional look that still feels natural.
Key Features of Hybrid Lash Extensions
Balanced Fullness: Combines the sleek look of classic lashes with the fluffiness of volume lashes.
Customizable Volume: Allows for a personalized mix of classic and volume extensions to match each client’s preferences.
Natural Glam: A polished yet approachable look that works for any occasion.
Best For:
Clients who want more fullness than classic lashes but less drama than mega volume. Those with uneven lash lines, as the mix of techniques can create a balanced appearance.
Anyone seeking a versatile style that’s suitable for day-to-night wear.
Wispy vs. Hybrid Lash Extensions: What’s the Difference?
Feature | Wispy Lash Extensions | Hybrid Lash Extensions |
---|---|---|
Look | Feathery, textured, and layered | Fluffy, balanced, and dimensional |
Technique | Longer and shorter lashes for texture | Mix of classic and volume extensions |
Customization | Highly personalized mapping for texture | Adjustable balance of fullness and length |
Impact | Bold yet natural | Natural with a hint of glam |
Best For | Clients who love a strip lash effect | Clients wanting a fuller but natural look |
How to Choose Between Wispy and Hybrid Lashes
As a lash artist, helping your clients choose between Wispy vs. Hybrid lash extensions means understanding their preferences, lifestyle, and natural lashes. Here are some factors to consider:
1. Desired Look
If your client loves a textured, layered style, Wispy lashes are the way to go. For those who want something fuller but still natural, Hybrid lashes are a better choice.
2. Natural Lash Condition
Wispy extensions often work best for clients with strong natural lashes that can hold varying lengths. Hybrid lashes, with their mix of classic and volume techniques, can help balance uneven lash lines or sparse areas.
3. Occasion
Wispy lashes are perfect for clients who want a striking yet natural effect for special events. Hybrid lashes offer versatility, making them ideal for everyday wear and special occasions alike.
4. Maintenance
Both styles require regular fills, but Wispy lashes may need more attention to maintain their layered look. Hybrid lashes, on the other hand, are often easier to maintain.
Why Clients Love Both Styles
Wispy Lashes:
Mimic the look of strip lashes without the hassle.
Add texture and dimension for a unique, eye-catching effect.
Perfect for clients who want to stand out.
Hybrid Lashes:
Offer the perfect mix of fullness and natural beauty.
Provide a balanced look for clients with uneven lashes.
Ideal for those who want a versatile, all-occasion style.
Final Thoughts on Wispy vs. Hybrid Lash Extensions
So, Wispy vs. Hybrid lash extensions—which is the winner? The truth is, it depends on your client’s style and needs. Wispy lashes are ideal for those who love texture and dimension, while Hybrid lashes offer a balanced, full look that’s perfect for any occasion.

Eyelash Extensions for Round Eyes
Eyelash Extensions for Round Eyes
November 22, 2023 by The Lash Professional.
When it comes to lash extensions, customizing the style to match a client’s eye shape is key to creating a stunning, balanced look. For clients with round eyes, the right lash style can enhance their natural beauty and create a polished, harmonious effect. If you’re wondering what the best lash extensions for round eyes are, you’ve come to the right place.
As a lash artist with The Lash Professional, I’ve worked with all eye shapes, and I can confidently say that round eyes have their own unique charm. To make the most of this shape, a natural lash style with the longest length placed where the brow arch is works wonders. Let’s break down the best lash styles, curl types, and techniques for round eyes so you can create a flawless look every time.
Understanding Round Eyes
Round eyes are typically wide, open, and circular in appearance. They often have a visible crease and can make clients look bright-eyed and youthful. However, if not styled correctly, lash extensions can exaggerate the roundness, which may not be the desired outcome.
The goal with round eyes is to enhance their natural openness while balancing the overall shape for a more elongated, lifted appearance.
The Best Lash Style for Round Eyes
The best lash extensions for round eyes are a natural style where the longest lash lengths are placed near the brow arch. This technique enhances the eye’s natural contour without making it appear too round or overly dramatic.
Why the Natural Style Works
Creates Balance: By focusing the longest lengths near the center, the eyes look proportionate and harmonious.
Enhances Openness: Round eyes are already open, so this style adds depth without exaggerating their shape.
Subtle Glam: Perfect for clients who want an enhanced but natural look.
How to Map the Natural Style
Shortest Lengths: Place these at the inner and outer corners of the eyes.
Longest Lengths: Apply where the brow arch is to create a lifting effect.
Tapered Ends: Gradually shorten the lengths toward the outer edge to maintain a natural flow.
Curl Types for Round Eyes
The curl you choose is just as important as the style. For round eyes, the goal is to maintain the natural shape while adding a soft lift.
Recommended Curls:
C-Curl: Offers a subtle lift that works beautifully for round eyes. It enhances the natural lash line without appearing too dramatic.
D-Curl: Great for clients who want a more noticeable lift. This curl adds extra drama while still complementing the natural shape.
CC-Curl: A middle ground between C and D, this curl is versatile and perfect for clients who want a balanced, elegant look.
Avoid using overly dramatic curls, like DD as these can make round eyes look overly exaggerated or unnatural.
Lash Extension Tips for Round Eyes
Here are a few extra tips to keep in mind when applying lash extensions for round eyes:
1. Customize Every Set
Every client is unique, so it’s essential to adjust the lash map and lengths based on their specific features, such as brow arch height and natural lash density.
2. Blend Lengths Seamlessly
Ensure a smooth transition between the shortest and longest lengths to create a cohesive, polished look.
3. Consider the Client’s Preference
Some clients may prefer a more dramatic look, so feel free to adjust the lengths or curls slightly while maintaining the natural style’s core principles.
4. Use Lightweight Extensions
Choose lightweight lashes to prevent strain on the natural lashes, ensuring comfort and longevity.
Final Thoughts on Lash Extensions for Round Eyes
So, what’s the best approach for lash extensions for round eyes? A natural style with the longest lengths placed near the brow arch is the ultimate choice. Paired with a soft curl like C or D, this style enhances the eye’s natural beauty, creating a balanced, harmonious look that’s both flattering and versatile.
As a lash artist, understanding eye shapes and customizing styles is key to delivering exceptional results. With premium products and expert support from The Lash Professional, you’ll have everything you need to create stunning lash sets for every client.

Eyelash Extensions for Hooded Eyes
Eyelash Extensions for Hooded Eyes
November 22, 2023 by The Lash Professional.
Nature has blessed all living creatures with unique features, such as eyes. All sorts of eyes have a distinct attractiveness, but finding the right cosmetic improvements may be challenging. Eyelash extensions for hooded eyes are a common cosmetic care aspect that has gained popularity over time.
Let's dive into the details of eyelash extensions for hooded eyes and see how they can add to your eyes' attractiveness.
Recognizing Hooded Eyes
Hooded eyes, also called ptosis or droopy eyes, are distinguished by excess skin folds just below the eyebrows that partially conceal the crease, making the eyelid look smaller. This characteristic sometimes causes difficulties when applying eye makeup or obtaining acceptable enhancers such as standard artificial lashes.
People with hooded eyes may always seem tired or sleepy because of the excess skin sagging down the eyelash line. Therefore, such droopy eyes may appear even smaller than they are.
Create Your Eyelash Extensions for Hooded Eyes
Customization is required when putting eyelash extensions on hooded eyelids. The hair's length, curl, and thickness are all meticulously chosen to match the particular eye shape. Shorter and lighter extensions toward the inner corner help to avoid a hefty or dominating appearance.
Choosing the right curl for hooded eyes is critical. A natural, soft curl can assist in opening up the eyes without weighing them down. Overly curled lashes may contact the upper eye, giving pain or an unnatural look.
Creating an Illusion of depth for Hooded Eyes
Eyelash extensions may add depth to hooded eyes, making them look bigger and more defined. A lifting effect may be created by deliberately inserting longer extensions toward the center and outer corners of the eyes, emphasizing the natural form.
During the application process, it is critical to consider safety and comfort. Skilled technicians know the sensitivity of hooded eyes and take extra precautions to ensure that the extensions are administered without causing discomfort or irritation.
Proper maintenance and treatment are required to extend the life of eyelash extensions. Using gentle washing solutions and avoiding oil-based products around the eyes is critical. Brushing the eyelash extensions for hooded eyes regularly helps avoid tangling and preserves a natural appearance.
A consultation with a trained expert is strongly suggested before plunging into eyelash extensions. This stage allows for a conversation about preferences, concerns, and realistic expectations, resulting in a personalized and gratifying encounter.
Using eyelash extensions to enhance hooded eyes is about accepting and enhancing natural beauty. The objective is not to radically alter the eye shape but to highlight its characteristics, resulting in a subtle but noticeable shift.
Eyelashes are more than simply cosmetic; they may greatly influence one's confidence and self-expression. Individuals with hooded eyes might increase their confidence by showcasing their distinctive eye shape by obtaining the perfect augmentation.
The Bottom Line
Eyelash extensions for hooded eyes are an excellent way to enhance natural beauty. Understanding the subtleties of this eye shape and tailoring extensions to fit can result in a lovely, harmonized appearance. Prioritizing safety, maintenance, and consulting creates a joyful and fulfilling experience, allowing people to embrace their distinctive traits confidently. In the world of cosmetic improvements, hooded eyelash extensions are a tribute to celebrating variety and finding beauty in the uniqueness of each individual.
Eyelash Extensions for Almond Eyes
Eyelash Extensions for Almond Eyes
November 22, 2023 by The Lash Professional.
Choosing the Best Eyelashes
The correct eyelashes may accentuate the beauty of almond eyes. When choosing artificial lashes, choose ones that match the natural form rather than dominating it. Wispy lashes of varied lengths can provide modest volume and depth to the almond shape.
The length and curve of the eyelashes are critical in emphasizing almond eyes. To enhance the natural upsweep of the eyes, use lashes that are longer towards the outer corners. Choosing lashes with a little curl can also accentuate this attractive form.
While bigger lashes may add drama, striking a balance is crucial. Moderately thick lashes without overshadowing the eye shape are ideal for almond eyes. Too much thickness may overpower the eyes, removing their inherent attractiveness.
The Method of Application
How the lashes are applied has a considerable influence on the final appearance. To draw attention to almond-shaped eyes, make the lashes somewhat longer towards the outer corners. This approach enhances the natural lift of the eye, emphasizing its form without dominating it.
Accepting Naturalness
Embracing a natural look is also a good option for almond eyes. Individual lashes or natural-looking falsies can elevate the eyelash for almond eyes without making them appear unduly dramatic. These alternatives offer a slight definition while keeping the eye shape's beauty.
Personalization and Experimentation
Beauty is subjective, and experimenting with different eyelash styles allows for customization. Feel free to experiment with different lengths, curls, and thicknesses to discover the look that best fits your unusual almond eyes. A minor alteration in lash style often makes a major impact in increasing their appeal.
Boost Your Confidence!
It's not only about looks regarding enhancing almond-shaped eyes with the appropriate eyelashes; it's also about confidence. It shows in your whole demeanor when you're happy with how your eyes appear. The right eyelashes for your eye shape may boost your confidence and make you feel even more gorgeous.
Last Thoughts
Eyelash for almond eyes have an inherent grace that may be heightened with the correct eyelashes. There are several ways to enhance its natural attractiveness, ranging from length and curl to thickness and application techniques. Experiment, accept your individuality, and let your eyes enchant the world with their captivating attractiveness.
Hybrid Eyelash Extensions
Hybrid Eyelash Extensions
November 22, 2023 by The Lash Professional.
The art of eyelash enhancement has grown in popularity in beauty and enhancement, providing a wealth of possibilities for elevating one's natural lashes. Hybrid eyelash extensions are a flexible and attractive alternative among the many options available.
Hybrid eyelash extensions have transformed the cosmetic business by combining the best of traditional and volume lash procedures to achieve a gorgeous, natural, but voluminous appearance. These extensions combine the best features of classic and volume lashes, creating a one-of-a-kind look that appeals to people looking for a more textured, multidimensional look.
What is a Hybrid Eyelash Extension?
Hybrid eyelash extensions are an intriguing combination among the various lash extension options. This mesmerizing eyelash treatment combines Volume (SVS or Russian) and Individual lash extensions, resulting in a beautiful combination of natural grace and increased fullness.
The adaptability of hybrid extensions is created through a painstaking procedure in which lash artists carefully blend individual classic lashes (one extension per natural lash) with volume fans (many extensions per natural lash) to create a personalized, hybridized appearance. This blending produces a bigger look while retaining traditional extensions' beauty and lightweight feel.
Who Should Get Hybrid Lashes?
Getting the hybrid lash extension is recommended if you need clarification about the myriad of eyelash extensions and falsies. This variant is designed for those needing more clarification about classic and voluminous variants. These eyelashes are a perfect blend of a natural, voluminous look.
What Makes Hybrid Eyelash Extensions Unique?
Hybrid lashes are created by strategically applying both conventional and volume lashes. This painstaking approach yields a textured and layered look. The traditional extensions combined with the meticulously placed volume lashes give a natural and voluminous style.
Obtaining the Ideal Balance
The attractiveness of hybrid extensions stems from their ability to mix subtlety and drama. The traditional extensions give a base of length and a modest lift. At the same time, the interspersed volume lashes provide fullness and depth to the set. This combination produces a unique style that highlights the inherent attractiveness of the eyes.
Versatility and Customization
One of the primary benefits of hybrid extensions is their adaptability. The positioning of classic and volume lashes may be tailored to each individual's eye shape, natural lashes, and desired effect. This customization enables a tailored and one-of-a-kind lash enhancement experience.
The Application Methodology
The insertion of hybrid eyelash extensions is a precise and sophisticated operation only qualified experts can do. It usually starts with a consultation session to learn about the client's preferences and analyze the state of their natural lashes.
The technician delicately applies the classic extensions, strategically interspersed with volume lashes, to produce the required texture and fullness. The procedure necessitates accuracy and creativity to achieve a smooth and natural-looking finish.
The Bottom Line
The world of eyelash extensions is as varied as exciting, with many alternatives to suit individual preferences. Among these alternatives, hybrid eyelash extensions stand out for their ability to combine the softness of traditional extensions with the attraction of volume lashes, resulting in a customized and eye-catching upgrade. Whether one chooses classic, volume, or alluring hybrid extensions, the key is to select a qualified specialist and follow the correct care methods to ensure a spectacular and long-lasting lash makeover.
Colored Eyelash Extensions: How to Style the Perfect Look
The #1 Wispy Eyelash Extension Style Chart
The #1 Wispy Eyelash Extension Style Chart
November 30, 2022 by The Lash Professional.
Years back, people could only get classic eyelash extensions, which are one individual lash extension per natural lash. But people wanted more choices and styles as aesthetic trends evolved, so new styles were developed. The most popular style now is wispy lashes, which are denser, fluffier, and have more volume than other types of eyelashes.
If you're an eyelash extension specialist looking to perfect your wispy style, or a client trying to find the best style for your next appointment, this wispy eyelash look might be for you.
What Does Having Wispy Eyelashes Mean?
Wispy lashes are achieved by having lash extensions that are thinner at the base and gradually get thicker toward the ends. This style is also called “feather” lashes. The wispy lash style gives your eyes a natural but enhanced look. The preferred effect is to make your eyes look wider and more open, which is perfect for an everyday look. Wispy eyelashes can also look gorgeous and glamorous for special occasions.
How Do I Achieve the Wispy Look?
There are several ways to achieve wispy lashes. The main goal is to create a fluffy, voluminous effect.
You can either:
- Use wispy lashes that are already pre-made. These come in various lengths, thicknesses, and curvatures
- Make your own wispy lashes by creating fluffy volume fans.
Wispy Lash Styles
There are various wispy lash styles that you can achieve, depending on the length, thickness, and curvature of the lashes. The three primary styles are classic, volume, and hybrid.
Classic wispy lashes are perfect for those who want a more natural look. The classic wispy style uses thinner, shorter lashes that are applied one by one to your existing lashes. This method is great for people with sparse lashes or those who want a softer look.
Volume wispy lashes use multiple, thinner lashes to create a fuller, more fluffy look. This style is perfect for special occasions or for anyone who wants to add more volume and drama to their lashes. It is done by applying 2-6 thin lashes to each natural lash.
Hybrid wispy lashes are a mix of classic and volume wispy styles. This method uses both classic and volume lashes to create a unique, intermediate look. You can achieve this look by mixing classic and volume lashes or by applying classic lashes to the inner corner of your eye and volume wispy lashes to the outer corner.
How Does Lash Mapping Help With Wispy Lashes?
Lash mapping is the process of plotting out where each individual lash extension will be placed. This is done by using a fine-tipped pen to mark the placement of each lash on an eye pad. The lash stylist then uses the lash map as a guide to apply the extensions.
Lash mapping is particularly important for wispy lashes because of the wispy lash style's graduated look. You want to make sure that the extensions are applied in a way that creates a natural, fluffy look. Lash mapping helps to achieve this by allowing the lash stylist to be precise with their placement.
And there you have it! Now you know all about wispy lashes and how to achieve the wispy look.

Lash Mapping For Hooded Eyes: The Ultimate Guide
Lash Mapping For Hooded Eyes: The Ultimate Guide
November 14, 2022 by The Lash Professional.
Creating the perfect lash look is more complicated than it may seem. A lash extension artist has to consider everything from the shape and size of the eyes to the natural length, texture, curl, and direction of the lashes.
And then there's the client's desired result to consider. This is especially true for clients with hooded eyes. But don't worry, we know what we're doing. With a little bit of expertise we can create the perfect lash look for anyone.
Does Your Client Have Hooded Eyes?
Let’s find out if your client has a hooded eye shape by answering two easy questions. Do they have a prominent brow bone? Does the skin from the brow bone cover the eyelid?
If you answered “Yes” to both questions, then the client most likely has a hooded eye shape. The level of hooding can vary from person to person, which may affect which lash look you choose. This means that lash mapping is even more important here than for someone with a different eye shape.
What Is Lash Mapping?
Lash mapping is the process of creating a lash look that is tailored specifically to an eye shape and writting it out on the eye pad. This includes taking into account the shape of the lashline, the length of the lashes, and the direction in which they grow.
This is done by first assessing the shape of the eyes and then designing a lash layout that will accentuate your client's best features and give them the lash look they desire.
Why Is Lash Mapping Important For Hooded Eyes?
Lash mapping is especially important for hooded eyes because of the way that the lash line is hidden. This can make it difficult to know where to place the lash extensions and how many to use.
If lash extensions are too short they may not be visible. Lash mapping takes the guesswork out of it and ensures that the lash extensions are placed in just the right spot.
How To Lash Map Hooded Eyes
Now that we know all about lash mapping and why it's so important for hooded eyes, let's look at how to do it.
The first step is to assess the shape of the eyes. This can be done by looking at them at them straight forward, sitting up. Once you have determined the shape of the eyes, you can then begin to map out where the lash extensions should be placed.
For hooded eyes, it is important to focus on lash placement along the hooded part of the eye. This will help to create the illusion of a more open eye and make the lash extensions more visible.
Next, you will need to decide on the length, thickness, and curl of the lash extensions. This will be based on both the client's preferences and the lash look that you are trying to create.
Once you have chosen the lash extensions, it is time to begin the lash mapping process.
The lash mapping process can be time-consuming, but it is important to take your time and be precise. This will ensure that the lash extensions are placed in the perfect spot.
The Relationship Between Lash Extensions and Hooded Eyes
Lash extensions are a great way to accentuate the eyes and create a flattering look. However, they can be a bit challenging to apply to hooded eyes. This is because the lash line is hidden, making it difficult to know where to place the lash extensions.
Lash mapping is an important part of creating the perfect lash look for hooded eyes. By taking the time to map out the lash placement, you can be sure that the lash extensions will be both visible and flattering. So go ahead and give it a try!
Lash Mapping For Hooded Eyes: 5 Dos and Don'ts
When it comes to lash mapping for hooded eyes, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Here are 5 lash mapping dos and don'ts for hooded eyes:
- Do take into account the level of hooding. This will affect which lash length you choose.
- Do focus on lash placement along the lash line. This will help to create the illusion of a more open eye.
- Do choose lash extensions that are long. This will help to compensate for the lash line being hidden.
- Don't forget to take your time. Lash mapping can be time-consuming, but it is important to be precise.
- Don't be afraid to experiment. Lash mapping is all about finding what works best for your client's individual lash line. So go ahead and try out different lash looks until you find the perfect one!

There are four main types of eyelashes: straight, wavy, curly, and kinky. Depending on the type of eyelashes your client has, you'll want to recommend a certain style of eyelash extension.
If your client has straight lashes, then we recommend a style that will add curl to their lashes. A good option would be the C-curl lash style. This will give their lashes a natural-looking curl without being too over the top.
If your client has wavy lashes, then a style that will add curl to their lashes will look wonderful. A C-curl lash style will also work in this case, giving lashes a natural look and feel.
If your client has curly lashes, then go for a style that will add length and definition to their lashes. For this case, the D-curl lash style works best. This will give their lashes a more dramatic.
If your client has kinky lashes, then we recommend a style that will add length and definition, much like curly lashes, so the D-curl lash style will also work here.
Eyelash Extension Style Chart Based on Eye Shape
There are four main types of eye shapes: almond, round, hooded, and monolid. Eye shape plays a big role in determining which eyelash extension style would look best on your client.
If your client has almond-shaped eyes, we recommend a style that adds length and definition. For example, you may want to use a thinner lash style so that it doesn't overwhelm their eyes. A good option would be the D-curl lash style.
For clients with round eyes, we recommend a style that will elongate heir eyes. A C-curl or D-curl lash style would be a good option. This will give the illusion of longer and fuller lashes.
If your client has hooded eyes, then a style that focuses on giving definition and length would be best. A good option would be the C-curl lash style. This will help to open up their eyes and give the illusion of longer lashes.
If your client has monolid eyes, a style that goes for length will be ideal. You may want to use a thinner lash style so that it doesn't overwhelm their eyes. The L-curl lash style would be a good option.
Eyelash Extension Style Chart Based on Curvature
There are three main eyelash curvatures: D-curl, B-curl, and C-curl. Depending on the type of eyelash curvature your client has, you'll want to recommend a specific style of eyelash extension.
Clients with D-curl lashes will want a style that adds curl and volume. A good option would be the C-curl lash style. This will give their lashes a natural-looking curl while still looking clean and elegant.
Clients with B-curl lashes will want a style that adds length and definition. A good option would be the D-curl lash style. This will give their lashes a more dramatic finish.
Like B-curl ones, clients with C-curl lashes will want a style that adds length and definition. That's why a D-curl style would also be a good option for them. It will give their lashes a long and voluminous look.
Eyelash Extension Style Chart Based on Application
There are two main types of eyelash extensions: classic and volume. Depending on the type of eyelash extension your client wants, you'll want to recommend a certain style of eyelash extension.
Classic eyelash extensions are single lashes that are applied one by one to your client's natural lashes. If your client wants classic eyelashes, then we recommend a style that focuses on length. A good option would be the D-curl lash style. This will give their lashes a long and sophisticated look.
Volume eyelash extensions are multiple lashes that are applied to each of your client's natural lashes. If your client wants this style, then we recommend a look that goes for volume and fullness. A good option would be the C-curl lash style. This will give their lashes a voluminous and natural-looking finish. But if you want to mix styles, read our do’s and don’ts of mixing D-curl and C-curl lashes.
Of course, these are just recommendations. Ultimately, it's up to your client to decide which style they want, but also up to you as the lash artist to offer what you think will work best based on the client's unique look and needs. We hope that this eyelash extension style chart will help you in your sessions!

Lash mapping is a technique for planning which lengths, curls, and thicknesses you will use to create a fabulous set of extensions suited to your client's eye shape and natural lashes.
The eyelash mapping guide below is a fantastic way to make sure you stick to the plan for the desired look — with lash mapping; every lash will be in the spot it is supposed to be.
There are many different eyelash mapping designs that can be used as guidelines when applying lashes to clients. However, it's important to keep in mind that every eye is different, so make sure to adapt the design if necessary. This way, you can create a unique look that is perfect for each individual client. Eyelash mapping can be a great way to ensure that your clients end up with the perfect set of lashes, so don't be afraid to experiment and have fun with it!
If you're new to eyelash mapping or just want a refresher, we've put together a quick guide on the basics. Read on to learn more about how to map out eyelashes for the perfect set.
What Is Lash Mapping?
Lash mapping is the process of creating a map or blueprint of where you will place eyelash extensions on a client's lash line. This is done by looking at the shape of the eye and natural eyelashes and then planning out which lengths, curls, and thicknesses of lashes will go where.
Why Is Lash Mapping Important?
Eyelash mapping is important because it allows you to create a custom look for each client. No two people have the same eye shape or natural lash line, so it's important to be able to adapt your lash design to each person.
Lash mapping also helps to ensure that the eyelash extensions you apply are safe and will not damage the natural lashes. If you randomly apply lashes without considering the natural lash line, you run the risk of the extensions putting too much stress on the natural lashes and causing them to break or fall out.
How To Lash Map: Eyelash Mapping Guide
There are a few different ways that you can lash map, but the basic process is the same. Here's a step-by-step eyelash mapping guide below:
- Start by looking at the shape of the eye. You'll want to take note of the inner and outer corners, as well as the width and length of the eyelid.
- Next, take a look at the natural lash line. You'll want to make a note of where the lashes are sparse and where they are denser.
- Once you have a good understanding of the eye shape and natural lash line, you can start planning out your design. Decide which lengths, curls, and thicknesses of eyelash extensions you want to use and where you want to place them.
- Finally, once you have your design mapped out, you can start applying the eyelash extensions. Make sure to follow your lash map so that you place each extension in the correct spot.
- Once all eyelash extensions are in place, you can step back and admire your handiwork!

Lash Mapping Tips
Here are some tips to keep in mind when lash mapping:
- Remember that every person’s eyes are different. Just because one eyelash mapping design works for one client does not mean it will work for all clients. Make sure to customize your designs to each gorgeous client.
- Lash mapping can be a bit of a trial and error process. Don't be afraid to experiment with different designs until you find something that works well for your client.
- Take your time when lash mapping. This is not a process that should be rushed — you want to make sure that you do it correctly so that your client ends up with the most bomb set of eyelashes.
- Use an eyelash mapping tool to help you with the design process. There are many different eyelash mapping tools available online and in beauty supply stores.
- Don't forget to take before and after photos of your work! This is a great way to show off your lash mapping skills to potential clients.
We hope this guide has been helpful in teaching you the basics of eyelash mapping.
