1. Complete a Board-Approved Training Program
2. Apply for Your Lash Tech License
Certified Lash Tech: This means you've completed a lash training course and received a certificate showcasing your skills.
Licensed Lash Tech: In Arizona, to legally perform lash extensions, you must be registered with the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board. This requires completing a board-approved training program of up to 30 hours. Once you finish the course, you'll get a provisional certificate to apply for your official license.
To be eligible to become a Licenced Lash Tech in Arizona, you must either:
Be at least 16 years old and have completed at least two years of high school education or its equivalent.
Be at least 18 years old, regardless of educational background.
These requirements are set by the Arizona Barbering and Cosmetology Board.
Students are responsible for providing three models. We recommend asking friends, family, or posting on social media to find people excited for a free lash service!
If you're unable to secure models, no problem—you can practice on a mannequin instead. However, working on live models is highly recommended to gain real-world experience and build your confidence.
Learning eyelash extensions takes practice and patience! At first, isolating lashes and applying extensions can feel tricky, but with our step-by-step curriculum and patient instructors, you’ll feel supported every step of the way.
